Scalp Micropigmentation for Women
A hair tattoo for women to build confidence and achieve the appearance of fuller hair.
A Womens Hairline Tattoo Can Give Life Changing Results
Have you noticed your hair thinning? Don’t panic – it’s quite common for this to happen to women as they age or experience hormonal changes. Scalp Micropigmentation for women helps hair look more dense and hides the appearance of the scalp, giving a permanent colour, enhancing natural beauty one follicle at a time.
Why Choose Female Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?
Scalp micropigmentation for women – or SMP for short – is a non-invasive process where follicles mimicking natural hair are tattooed onto the scalp to look like hair follicles. Unlike other treatments like weekly colouring or fibre use, backcombing or wearing head pieces, SMP for women doesn’t require regular maintenance. It’s fast, effective and you’ll see results right away after it’s applied.
What Are The Benefits of Scalp Micropigmentation For Women?
Do You Have Female Pattern Baldness? SMP For Women Might Be The Answer
Around 49% of women will experience hair loss at some point in their lives. While lifestyle changes like diet and exercise can lessen symptoms, many women rely on camouflaging, like scalp micropigmentation, for treatment.
SMP for women is ideally suited to those who have low hair density, medical conditions like alopecia, and general thinning of the hair. These conditions can be quite traumatic, so we’ll work with you to design the best course of treatment to reduce the contrast between your scalp and hair, boosting your confidence along the way.
Scalp micropigmentation is a great solution for:
- Thinning hair around the scalp and crown
- Hair loss from alopecia
- Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL)
- Hair transplants
- Filling in Bald spots.

Frequently Asked Questions
A hair tattoo, aka scalp micropigmentation, is a non-invasive process where follicles mimicking the hair are tattooed onto the scalp to look like hair follicles, giving the appearance of a fuller head of hair.
Scalp micropigmentation is permanent. The ink is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the scalp. It will fade over time depending on the individual’s metabolism, overall health and lifestyle. It needs to be ‘touched up’ for 2-5 years because it’s common to see some fading after the first year. Typically, most women’s hairline tattoos last for between 3 to 5 years. Washing your hair with a natural, sulphate and alcohol-free shampoo will prevent premature fading.
You may notice some redness on your scalp that lasts for 24-48 hrs after treatment. Avoid washing your hair with products for 3 days after your SMP session, but you may rinse it in cold water.
Unlike a normal tattoo, SMP for women doesn’t require any numbing prior to treatment and it’s much less painful. Most clients rate it 1-5 out of a pain threshold of 10.
